STRENGTH

Maxis has high network quality. The data coverage is the best in Malaysia. Maxis built strong distribution network and got the first LTE coverage in Malaysia. Their customer services are quite efficiency.

WEAKNESS

Maxis has no signal in some rural area and no data coverage in some area. The rate is higher than others communication company. Sometimes maxis have hidden charges and a lot of customers complain about it. Customers need to pay for the customer service.

OPPORTUNITY

iPhone 5 / iPad mini / Samsung S4 launched and user demand for boardband service. Nowadays everyone online everytime, everywhere they go so once user sign for data plan they will stick to it. Maxis can gain more user when new iPhone / iPad or other mobile devices launch. Maxis give sponsorship through some events.

THREAT

Maxis's competitors such as Celcom and Digi launched iPhone / iPad / other mobile devices put a lot of pressure on Maxis. Celcom and Digi recently released LTE coverage. Celcom network is big even got network in rural area. Digi rate is much more cheaper than Maxis.
